A KJ newbie here... :D I purchased a Jeep rear window air deflector for my 2004 KJ and the install went great until the last nutzert. It spins and I wound up cross threading it too. I know, I know, I should have had the dealer put it on, but I'm usually pretty good with stuff like this.

I'm in the triad area of North Carolina if anyone knows a good shop to fix this for me.

This is my first Jeep and it is wonderful. My wife would like to lay claim to it.

I also look forward to searching this forum for recommendations on rock rails, tires, a safari rack that will be used mainly for luggage, trailer hitch, a little lift, and skid plates.

Many thanks,
M-Forgery

Welcome M-Forgery,glad you could get L.O.S.T. with us. :) You have come to the right place. This is one of the best and most informative forums I've been on.The people on here are great. On the nutzert problem,if you cannot gain accsess to the back of the nutzert, you could take a dremel tool with a small bit and grind the head off, then push it in to try and install another one.Hope this helps, and again,Welcome Aboard.

Ron

How far over from the upper brake light is it? You can pull it out and look in behind to see if you can get something on it, or if you have to cut it off like LiLredLibbey said at least you can maybe get the cut off part out of the roof area so it doesnt rattle.

Oh yes welcome aboard! Ask any question you want trust me no question goes unanswered!

Thanks Ron. Dremel tools are usually dangerous things, but in this case it may pay off. Thanks for the idea. Now where can I find a new nutzert or two?

Wonderful ideas! Ok, Dremel the head off and push it on in, remove the upper tail light and I'll use my magnetic pickup to get it out to avoid the rattling. Now not to screw up the new one.

Just remember when you remove the upper brake light to put it back exactly and securely to prevent rain from leaking in.
I made that mistake once.

if you use a regular screw driver .. and put the end of up to the edge of the nutzert and pound that in with a hammer.. you could grab it with some needle nosed pliers and sneak it outta there.. just depends how tight it is in there.. dremels can be dangerous..

i had 2 failed nutzerts when installing the light bar on my roof :( they suck!
