Our pathetic selection of front engine skids is in jeopardy. I thought I got lucky and got an order in with Skid Row, but they will not make any more unless they get 2 more orders. This skid gives more clearance too. The new Mopar skid is so lame, I was willing to give my brand new one away for free. (MOPAR=Minimum Offroad Protection Against Rocks If you need this skid, or plan on doing any serious wheeling, please order one. www.skidplates.com Rocks bite back.

I don't see it holding up any better than stock due to lack of any reinforcing bends in it. Being that it is 3/16" thick metal and flat, I know I would have destroyed one by now and my stockers are holding up fine just ugly and beat up. |

Do you have an older one, or did you get a new one? If I could get another mopar like the one the original that came with mine, I would. The new ones suck. It's much lighter and only 1/8" (0.13") thick. |

My 03 & 04 seem to be the same thickness and I would say are about 3/16". It is just the way they are formed that gives them a lot of their strength. I do have a line on another 03 skid but I still have to go pick it up. At the rate that I am enjoying the IFS right now, I might not have a need for any of them in the near future. |

The skid I have is from an 03 libby I believe, and its holding up great. Ive landed on it fairly hard and it only got some scratches.. I use it as a jacking point all the time and it never flexes. |

If your CRD didnt come with the skid plate package from the factory then it just has a flimsy front shield. It was a stock item on all CRD's I think and seems to be there mostly to hold up insulation |

I have the skid row engine tranny skid and I slid the vehicle over a boulder resting on that skid at the AZ Fun in the Sun (box canyon and no lift at the time). You can see an exposed area a quarter inch wide and three inches long where it took the paint off the skid. No bending, cracks, or other damage to the skid whatsoever. If it can hold up your vehicle while sliding across a rock with no structural damage, then I think it is a pretty good skid, maybe not up to Mutt's high standards of destruction, but good enough for sane people. |

Gday all, I havent been on here for a while but I have good reason to now. I have just become the Gibson RM SNORKLE distributor for QLD Australia and I am looking at export. I just had an hour with the people from Fedex here and set up accounts the whole shooting match, Sending stuff over to you guys will be easier than I thought, I just have a few more forms to fill out than expected I'm also waiting on a set of 5 prototype ULTRA LOW PROFILE, 3mm laser cut steel skid/bash plates from my supplier. This skid will be amazing and it looks very sleek, not over engineered and not too heavy - it will suit both CRD and petrol models. I'm very excited about my new venture and hope to serve you guys well:) I've got a few more things on the go for the Automotive Industry and Jeep Australia in particular. When everything is officialy setup, I will do a major post explaining what I have available now, and what I can send you guys, freight costs, everything. I hope this opens a small porthole in our communication lines for future products (hints and SFA kit suppliers |
