Post subject:  Volant Air Intake

I was thinking about getting an air intake for my new Liberty and I really like the volant. It says it's only for an 02-03 Liberty. Has anyone with a later year tried it? I have an 07. Thanks.

I put a Volant on my '99 Dodge Ram, thinking it was better than the K&N. I was wrong. IMO they are junk! The design was so poor that it wouldn't seat properly on the throttle body causing air and moisture to enter the engine. Also, it was so heavy that it would routinely pop out of the side of the engine bay (where the intake was) and cause a very annoying rattle under the hood. I never could get it installed properly no matter how I cafosticated it  I would stay away from those and go with the K&N FIPK tube and replace the filter with an AEM Dryflow, then sell the K&N filter on eBay

That's good to know. Thanks. When I had my Dodge Ram that I just traded in everyone on Dodgetalk.com used to say how the volant was the best one. I used to have the K&N on my 3000GT. So that's probably what I'll get.
Thanks again.
