I've got the KJ at a buddies shop today to get the lift put on and his mechanic called me because the OME springs that came in the kit were the same length as the fronts and he doesn't think the front will lift any. From what I understand the OME's don't sag as much as stock and that's were you get the lift from (and the plate provided). Someone please tell me that's right and I'm not crazy. All I've got envisioned right now is walking in to pick up the KJ and the stupid end is sticking straight up in the air.

EDIT:

I love RRO!

The plate provided is what gives the lift along with the OME strut/spring system being firmer than the OEM stuff...you should be alright i bet...

I just got off the phone with the guys at the shop and I'm slightly disappointed. They've been working on the Jeep since about 9:30 this morning and still haven't gotten it done. How is it all the guys here can get The more difficult lifts (Rusty's and Franks) done in 4-6 hours but I pro shop can't do the rockfather I in an entire day? It's just springs in the front and shocks in the rear with a spacer.

I guess I'll patiently wait....

On the plus side they REALLY wanted to do the alignment today and said it wouldn't matter if I waited because the coils wouldn't settle enough to make a difference. I told them to just get it out today and I'll bring it back in later for the alignment.

GRRRRRRRRRR!!!

RRO Sent the wrong spacer and it's to small for the coil seat. So now I'm out a vehicle which I really can't afford.

Struts do not lift a vehicle same as shocks do not, springs are what give a vehicle its lift. If they took all day they are taking too many coffee and smoke breaks.
Hope you are not paying them by the hour!

Definitely not! Normally I wouldn't have taken it into a shop to have it done. I'd go to my uncle and install it there but he's been too busy to do anything right now. It's a friend that I've helped in the past that owns the shop. So I'm paying $50 to cover his mechanics pay for the day and that's it.

I guess I can be added to the list of people who can't say anything good about the customer service at RRO! After I got the wrong part I talked to them and they shipped the part to the mechanic 2 day, I told them I wanted it overnight and said they couldn't do it because of cost. After A LOT of B****ing and moaning they checked the shipping department and it had already gone out and couldn't change it.    This better be one heck of a kit to make up for all this crap.

I HOPE RRO READS THIS CRAP!!! CAUSE YOU GUYS SUCK!

I guess tomorrow would be the perfect day to give Glenn Wakefield a call, on his and my lunch break  , to ask about the $200 that I was supposed to get back, for those UCAs that can't deliver, more than three months ago.

BTW, Glenn,

I recently joined a club with another member who has met you face-to-face, wheeled with you, etc (not that you'll ever read this)... and he (or a couple other members) wasn't the least bit surprised to learn that you owe me money. I hope we never meet.

So much love here.

Doesnt matter what you drive, or what community your part of, theres always one or two specialty shops to avoid.

They only sent the wrong part. Surprising, usually they mess up more than that. :D

Please remember, We Utahn's want nothing to do with RRO and in no way do they reflect on us as a hole.

It was a whopping total of 4 parts Couldn't have messed up much. I haven't got the next part of the shipment yet so We may be giving them more credit then what's due.

I just don't get it. There are lots of threads and posts on this forum about the lack of quality control and problems w/ not only RRO's parts but also their crappy customer service yet people continue to buy from them only to report back about their bad experiences too. Why is that? :?
Why anyone would spend a dime w/ them is beyond explanation. I won't even visit their site let alone purchase product from them. I see the same kinds of reports on other forums for other models too. Same dissatisfaction w/ their products and service. It is amazing that they can stay in business.

Because some of us, (obviously me) are too impatient. I've got a camping trip coming up at the beginning of July and couldn't afford to get Rusty's and new tires so I settled. I usually kick myself later but that's my own dumb fault, I heard all of the fuss about RRO and I took that into account but figured I'd have better luck. HA! right... I'm upset of course because I'm out a vehicle until I get the parts but I know it's my fault and I should have just waited.

One of the things that upset me the most though is that the lift had been setting in my living room for 2 weeks and if they had sent a product spec list with it I would've known long ago that the part was wrong and could've had it taken care of before hand.

Right now I'm just upset about the Customer service. If the product is good then at least something good came out of it.

I hope you get it worked out and the lift performs. Good luck!

If it makes you feel any better, I've got rock krapper parts just collecting dust while they spent my money and ripped me off. Hopefully, at the end of your endeavor, you will have a lift that works.

Sorry to hear of your plight.

I am with you JJsKJ, cant fiqure out why time after time people ask about them and they get 223 people saying stay away from them yet more and more buy from them. I guess that is how they do stay in business. I have been hearing negative things about RRO since I started on here back in 8/2004. How they stay in business and still be able to sleep at night is beyond me! :?

i have had absolutely 0 problems with them...dont know how you all do

sucks though

anyways the only gripe i have is iwth the kit...i wish they had a longer / taller spring and the plates as well....

i am thinking of getting franken front springs to swap out the OMEs

Post subject:

EOD-KJ and what type of springs are on the Frankenlift? mmmm I think it was unless they have changed recently...... OMEs unless you went with the light duty ones or something in the beginning

The Frankenlift uses OME springs.

Well, I retract all statements about RRO. THEY'RE AWESOME!!!

Shipping screwed up yet again and sent me the components for the Rockfather II system. The mechanic called to tell them they sent the wrong thing again and they told him that I've had enough problems and to just keep it and install it. :D :D :D :D :D :D

Actually once I got a hold of someone in charge (Jared) he was very helpful and was probably the only person I've talked to through all of this that new what he was talking about. When they shipped out my stuff the first time the guy said he would send it 2nd day and shipped it ground instead. So Jared overnighted the parts to me (the new set up) but shipping yet again screwed that up. So, Now I've got a Rockfather II and I only paid $400 BRAND NEW!!!!
