spring tech

is anyone running the spring tech 3" lift w/ pro comp shocks?

any info on this lift is great at this point.. thanks

Never liked anything pro comp...........and the Lift I would go with a lift that has been tested by LOST KJ members, like the Frankenlift/ OME springs whatever shocks struts Ranchos/OME / even a Rustys spring lift

That looks almost exactly like the Rough Country lift. It is a spacer lift (like the OTT but on the bottom of the strut). I Just took mine off and swapped the front for a front only Frankenlift. The RC lift will experience the same problems as the OTT types of lifts such as Ball joint contact and overcompressing struts (read as blown struts). My struts were no longer offering any compression dampening. Also, because the strut tops out, you don't have as much articulation in the front end.

hmm ya that makes sense.. well that rules out the rough country lift too huh..

i dont really think i plan on off roading much so do you really think all that stuff matters that much?

You say that now but ask my wife she said
"oh I dont want to take my jeep in the woods" now things have changed

if it is 4X4 I would spend the money do it right the first time it will be cheeper then going wheelin and having to replace stuff
if it is 2wd then you wont be doing the wheelin that will cause problems

OK to those who say "Well I will never go off road or only a time or tow" You are still running up and down the road, over speed bumps, curbs/ uneven driveways etc. You are using part if not most of the suspension so why not do it right the first time. The guy I got my ARB from said the same thing, after a few thousand miles upper ball joints gone, one broke, messed up a fender big time and a whole bunch of other stuff. Took everything off and sold it to me for next to nothing. Sold the Liberty cause it was junk and you cant lift them. ALL because he wanted to do it cheap and kept saying But I will never go off road. Buy a good lift in the beginning and be done with it...period! :wink:

I have used that lift it helped to clear larger tires. i found that it offered a much improved ride in the rear (better shocks than stock) but it streched the front to its limit and cused a horrible bang every time you whent over a bump becaus the strut mount actually touch the inner fenderwells. if you have bought this lift i would highly recomend fining a diferent way to lift the front end. as for the rear lift it handles the extra weight of a reciver mounted platform and cargo very well, as well as pulling a trailor.

ya man i can totally understand that.. i had a little come to my senses moment an hour ago and now i think im just gonna save some time and money in the long run and just cut the shi7 and get a rusty's coil lift
