Post subject:  Upper Rear Spring Isolators

I just received my order of 4 upper rear spring isolators... Just waiting on the bump stops and the entire lift kit will go on (Rusty's). My question is, can anyone explain a little better to me how the isolators go together? Is it fairly easy to squeeze the extra two on there?

Thanks,
Bill

The two extra just stack up under the stock issolator. Put them in the same location as the stock issolators. Put the spring back in and the weight of the jeep will compress them together.

dont forget to drown them in silicone grease. If you dont you will have some fun squeeky noises coming from your rear end. Rubber against rubber is almost as bad as nails on a chalk board.

To be honest with you 2 extra isolators in the rear will be too much in my opinion. I have a 3 ring clevis in the front and 1 extra isolator in the rear and the rear sits a bit higher than the front. Other people have complained about a driveline vibe with 2 extra isolators in the rear. Also no need to grease or spray the isolators with anything. I put mine in dry been on there for a few thousand miles and not one squeak.

i have three total on each side of the rear, with no driveline vibrations at all.

also have 4 conduit washers on each side of the front, and no issues there either, well, no issues with it before i put the arb on.

now there's REALLY no issues since it has settled almost a quarter inch. ! 8)

jasonk,

05 liberty sport
big lift
big tires

What size tires can fit with that lift? Do you have other lift components for the lift not stated in your post?

i want to add a little bit of lift, therefore i want to use the conduit method and the isolators, but can i do this by myself or should i have the professionals do it?

if you have the tools and a jack/jack stands then yes its pretty easy, no use using the professionals :? for something simple

you can do it yourself.. and i agree.. you do not need to grease the rear isolators.. i didnt and mine are fine although i just have two total (stock and one extra)... 2 extra will fit but it'll be tight.. the rusty's lift sits pretty level in the first place.. so in my opinon the rear will be much higher than the front... cant wait to see pictures!

you may not need them, my rusty's lift settled in nose down in 6 months I did a 3/8 clevis lift & it's perfect NO isolaters needed

how many of each (isolators and conduits) would be optimal for height without destroying my angles or messing anything up?

Post subject:

most use 3 washers ( total of 6) each side & 1 or 2 isolaters ( sets)

so i can use that many on the front and the rear and not mess anything up in the long run? about how much will i gain in clearance

Author:  raceinfan [ Wed Jul 04, 2007 9:30 pm ]
Post subject:

3 washers per side will gain 3/8 roughly I believe the isolaters will gain a 1/2 inch depending on how many you use & you shouldn't have any vibration

I have just the washers up front with the rusty's kit & cv angels are just about straight
