I was looking into lifting my kj soon and wanted to gather up the tools needed, I am going to go with the Daystar lift for some light off roading. I think the only two tools I need is the spring compressor and the ball joint seperated. I just wanted opinions on if these are suitible for the job from Harbor Frieght

you don't need the ball joint seperator, just a BFH...

Pretty slick looking spring compressor I must say as well! I'm confused as to which way it squeezes?!! Looks like threading rods make it uhmmm...narrower in the picture but the hinge at the back would lead me to believe it gets "shorter"?...

And as for the Ball-joint splitter... yeah, just use a hammer. Make sure to leave the nut threaded on a lil' so your beating on that and not the threads!! Very important!

Well, I needed something more than my 2lb dead-blow to get the ball joint separated, but whatever you do please DO NOT use a pickle fork (like in the bottom image in your post). It'll just tear the rubber on the non-replaceable ball joint and you'll need to replace it with Al's arms... OK, on second thought go ahead and use the pickle fork :P

Never use a pickle fork unless you want to destroy your boots.

I used a press type separator and it worked out great..

If you do not want to hit it with a hammer, use this type of seperator:

This is a performance tool brand, typically found at almost any parts store such as napa, o'rielley's, or car quest.

I tried a spring compressor like the one in the 1st picture on the 1st post and it wouldn't fit the front strut springs. Ended up using the claw type one:

Yeah, the claws are to thick to remove compressor after you compress the spring.
