Anyone see the new Ranch RS 99764 srtuts. According to their application guide http://www.gorancho.com/products/appgui ... shocks.pdf the Liberty takes RS99764.

If you go up to the top of the application guide it talks about the new coil overs.

New Rancho Triple X Coil Overs include "Threaded sleeve design allows up to 2 1/2 inches of vechicle height adjustment" for RS99760-RS99799

Wow, that's pretty interesting.

According to this thread, they're about $180/ea:

http://www.titantalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24005

Shock Warehouse has them for $137.11 each.

Add a pair of Skyjacker springs and RSX 170004's in the rear, and you've got yourself a pretty cheap lift. I wonder how it would perform offroad.

If they just compress the spring, then they will probably behave a lot like a spacer lift. If they actually lengthen the strut, then the effect will be more like the RRO OTT lift or the Rough Country lift. If either of those is true, then Rusty's coils are probably still the best option, because they retain the original range of motion without overextending.

Who's gonna be the first guinea pig? :D

I think you are right Troy. Looks like it just compresses the spring up so probably will act just like a spacer. However, you could throw on some OME coils and Daystar top plate to reduce spring preload, but skip the 1.5" spacer. That way you could fine tune the front end height if you wanted to and give your self some more room if you add a bumper or winch later in the futer.

Would be an intresting setup. Maybe I should give Quinn a call and see if he can set something up for me.

Just doing a little more research here is what I found

Code:
            Comp      Ext      Travel
RSX17505    9.75   13.875      4.125
RS5764      9.75   13.875      4.125
RS99764    7.625   12.125      4.5

So they are 1.75" shorter at full extension that the RSX struts which are typical used for the Frankin Lift. However, the Daystar top plate drops the strut down what looks to be 1.5 to 2" (some one correct me if I'm wrong) so with the Daystar top plate you would have the same effect droop as the stock assembly (assuming RSX are stock length?). Then you could use either a little clevis lift or an over the top strut spacer to droop her right to the point before UBJ contact.

Now since your effective strut assembly length can only be increased to basically stock what about spring pre-load?
Well since you would probably be using about .3-.5" clevis lift or an over the top spacer to increase droop then you would not need to add as much preload to gain the same amount of lift so the extra pretension would be less probably not effect ride quality.

Why all the complicated info if there are good lifts on the market now?
Well you get the ability to make adjustment in the front ride height incase you add a bumper or winch later.
Also you get the ability to control shock valving. It seems sometimes that the damping can be a little firm on small road imperfections, however not enough when 4 wheeling especially when dealing with who-dee-dos. This way you could simply crank up the damping while you are airing down and have the best of both.
Why not its just fun to try new stuff out.

Probably should have been written whoop-dee-do. A hole bunch of small little hills in a row. Only about a foot or so height and about maybe 5 feet apart. Think of a washboard road that is oversized.

The whoop-de-dos on Poison Spider were rediculous...

That strut sounds interesting. Someone spend the money and tell us how they are! :)
