Has any of the folks who have the talent and tools to do such a thing considered swapping the front diff out of a GM IFS truck? Those have to be a plentiful and reasonably priced donor. Yes, I am wool-gathering, but could this be a decent swap alternative to an SFA to get a stronger front end? |

The steel front diffs from the new Grand Cherokees has my interest. Don't know if anyone has tried them out yet. |

The only problem with the GM front IFS diff is there is ZERO options for a LSD or locker.

I think a fabbed diff housing out of welde steel would actually be easier...not saying it would be easy...but you would have the current front diff/cvaxle tubes to work off. Then everything else would stay the same...ie...mounting points, ring&pinion, CV Axles, ect. |
