Has any of the folks who have the talent and tools to do such a thing considered swapping the front diff out of a GM IFS truck? Those have to be a plentiful and reasonably priced donor. Yes, I am wool-gathering, but could this be a decent swap alternative to an SFA to get a stronger front end?

The steel front diffs from the new Grand Cherokees has my interest. Don't know if anyone has tried them out yet.

The only problem with the GM front IFS diff is there is ZERO options for a LSD or locker.

I think a fabbed diff housing out of welde steel would actually be easier...not saying it would be easy...but you would have the current front diff/cvaxle tubes to work off. Then everything else would stay the same...ie...mounting points, ring&pinion, CV Axles, ect.
