Post subject:  Is my upper ball-joint toast?

I was inspecting my front suspension the other day when I noticed a tiny dab of grease on my driver's side upper ball-joint which is part of the upper a-arm. The grease blot was probably the size of a a ball-point pen tip. Very small. Anyways.. I smuged it off with my finger and noticed a tiny tear in the rubber boot on the ball joint. I've attached a picture below... do I need to replace my upper ball-joints or am I over reacting? If I replace the upper ball joints I will probably go with jeepin by al upper a-arms with the greasable moogs.

Thanks for your input..

Here is the pic:

I would de-grease it with rubbing alcohol and put a dab of silicone over the hole..

That is what I did once and it worked fine.

Get a grease needle for a grease gun and pump it full or grease first. Then degrease it and put some RTV on it. Just be sure to check it at every oil change.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to clean it up and put some silicone over it and keep an eye on it. 8)
