How do you like that 50 series delta muffler? I've been thinking about getting one myself.

The vent shades and rear tail lights are great. Nice little show Jeep. The one thing I didn't see was custom pin striping

Yeah, the AEM intake, how did you get around having to use your IAT sensor? Aren't you getting code faults? Are you getting the same mileage?
What did you do with the sensor?

You guys were right about the Liberty AEM induction kit. The coupling in the kit has no hole for the engine temperature sensor. I had to modify it with a small hole about half the size of the diameter of the sensor. Then push the sensor through the hole and install the coupling. Since the sensor has a cone shape on the end it fits nice and snug with no air blow-by. I've noticed a small increase in my gas mileage and some definate pick up when passing others with the new AEM kit installed.

I actually called the folks at Flowmaster and asked for a recommendation for my Liberty. I wanted the 50 Series SUV performance muffler but they said that was tailored more for V8's. They recommended the 50 Series Delta Flow. You can listen to their sound clips on Flowmaster.com to get a feel for the differences in sound between the models they offer. Personally I'm happy with the 50 Series Delta Flow they recommended that I had installed. It has a deep low rumble to it...not too loud not too soft. Higher RPM's really let the tiger out and it sounds great when passing or just getting on the peddle. The sound won't wake the neighbors at lower speeds either unlike the 40 Series. Unless you want your teeth fillings to rattle out I wouldn't recommend the 40 Series. 50 Series is the way to go if you want a nice middle ground.

Like what you've done with yours :D . One question on the Flowmaster. What part # did you use?

Thanks, Matt

Oohhhh, BLING! 8) Nice looking Lib. I have been thinking about the rear air deflector; does it actually do anything for keeping the rear window cleaner?

Yes, the rear air deflector actually helps redirect blow by air from the roof of the truck down across the back window and it helps keep it cleaner for a bit longer than normal. Besides that...it looks pretty neat too!

I purchased the 2.5" center inlet / 2.5" offset outlet muffler. The serial number is 942552. Here's the link to the exact muffler:

Thanks! It's nice to take some of the guess work out! Did you measure mileage/performance improvements before & after the AEM intake and muffler swap?

Yes I actually did measure before and after gas mileage. (Had to convince my wife the money on the mods was well spent!). Using my overhead mini-trip computer in the Liberty I measured my average MPG over three full tanks of gas and averaged it out to be 17.5 mpg. (I drove the same route to work everyday and tried to minimize any deviances to get the most accurate estimate). After the AEM intake and Flowmaster muffler installs I did the same measurements on my MPG (through three tanks again). I'm getting 19.2 right now so it looks like about a 1.7 MPG increase. Not as much as I hoped but it's still better than without the modifications. Hope this info helps you out.

Well, maybe I should have gotten 40 series, then.. HMMM.. Need my fillings rattled out
Anyone wants my 50 SUV Series? :)

I agree with the Flowmaster 50 Delta. That is what I just got put in and I love the start up and accel rumble. It is pretty quite up to 65 mph, but once you go faster than that it gets a little noisier than I like.
