I was just over at the tire store trying to decide on tires for when the Frankenlift II Premium lift kit comes in. I already have the a-arms sitting in a box, and I also have 4 spring isolators coming in so we can put 1 or 2 on each side in the rear to level it. I kind of like the Michelin LTX AT2 in the 265/65R17. It's 30.6" diameter and 10.7" wide on an 8" rim, so I would think closer to 10.5" on my 7.5" rims. They weigh 41 lbs and my rims are 21 lbs for a total weight of 62 lbs I'm also thinking about sticking with the Destination AT's, and going with a 255/70R17. That would be 31.1" diameter, and 10.2" wide on the 7.5" rims. They're 40 lbs, so about 61 lbs total. I'm currently running 245/65R17 Destination AT's at 29.5" x 9.8" on a 7" rim, so probably about 10" on my 7.5" rims, and weigh 35 lbs for a total of 56 lbs. I only rub while articulating and turning. Full turn on flat ground doesn't rub. It looks like while on flat ground I have about 0.5" before it will rub on any suspension components. This is not a trail rig. It has to be able to get me through snow and ice for my ski trips each weekend during the winter, and handle hilly gravel roads, and the occasional trip through a field out at the farm. It's handled everything fine until just recently when I smashed the front tires upwards hard enough to cause the sway bar to smash up the fender liners. Otherwise, it is a daily driver, so on road manners are somewhat important.
I'd appreciate any opinions and advice with my first lifted vehicle. Thanks.
