Hey guys, I installed the quicker disconnects and now anytime I hit a decent bump it sounds like my shocks are bad, but I know they aren't because they were fine before I installed these discos... Are there any known issues like this? Thanks, Bill |

If you do a search you will find lots of compalaints of them being noisy and many have removed them and gone back to stock. |

known issues? well yeh - do a search - product was withdrawn from market. I know more people who tried and removed them than people using them. |

Well I don't feel too bad then. All I want to know is are they doing any damage or are they just noisey? |

Mine makes a ton of noise. I turn the radio up. I think the issue is due to the fact that when engaged they push and pull against the posts. Since they are only held on with a pin and not bolted down, they are going to bang around against the pin, post and frame when engaged. Since the lift, I have had to adjust mine to keep them from hitting the top of the disconnect and pin against the side of the a arm. They were hitting so hard it bent the pin and I had to cut it off and use a punch to get the pin out of the post. Shortened the discos and it works much better, but it still makes minor contact on big bumps. I learned the hard way to make double sure they are torqued and that you use the right amount of thread locker. Insufficient thread locker or torque and the posts will liberate themselves from the vehicle in short order. Some have replace the pins with better cotter pins as well. |

That's good information, thanks. I do have to retorque mine because my punch thingy got bent. I'll have to go get a nice thick screw driver or something... |

Yes very very noisy. in addition to making sure they're torqued. I also put some thread lock on the posts. Also it takes a while to get the correct length of the disco and getting the sway bar centered correctly. I eventuallly pulled them off and now they make great tool box clutter. |

It's kinda funny aint it.Every little noise we here on the road scares us half to death, but as soon as we hit the trails we're saying "What noise? I did'nt here nothin". Almost like when we get offroad we become big ole Macho tuff guys or somethin'. Ron |

i do have to agree with everyone. The discos are pretty noisy. An seeing as how nobody else makes discos its eother something you have to deal with or something you take off. Im going to go the route of some sound deadening and some silversided insulation. That stuff works really well. |
