A few questions, I might be considering this lift...

Does the lift require Al's a-arms?

Approx how much actual lift will it create? (says around 1.5")

Where would be the best place to purchase this lift? Internet retailer or an ARB retailer?

Can I fit 245/75 tires with the lift w/o any major work done to the wheel wells? (I've already hammered down the pinch weld)

Thanks in advance

Im not sure about all the answers so I will let somebody else give their opinion but Im pretty sure that
No you don't have to have Al's A arms
I always thought that you will get around 2" with OME
Yes you can fit 245/75 if you already hammered down the pinch weld

AllJs or RockLizzard Fabrication can get you the lift and both give great customer support. The ~2" OME is the way to go...you won't HAVE TO HAVE Als UBJ Arm...you should not have UBJ Contact...245/75/16s will fit on stock rims with the pinch weld hammered flat and possible front plastic trimming. You can add adjustable rear trailing arms to push the rear axle back to normal position but don't have to. You will love the rife quality.

Yes to the OMEs!!!!!!! Dont have to use Als arms, ride is great, handles way better than stock could ever think about, Call AllJs (on line at Boulderbars.com) they can set you up with what you will need, if I was buying another Liberty today that is the first thing I would order, well that and skids/tires/ etc

I run the OME with 245/75 MTR's on OE wheels
melt and move fog lamp door pound the pinch

as far as where to get the stuff this is what I did and it ends up REAL cheep
Rustys Offroad=
OME springs $100 per pair (last time I looked they were still $100 a pair on the web site)
OME rear shocks $80 per pair
ALL J's=
Ranch front struts
$160 per pair ( last time I looked at their web site)

Thats $440 + shipping ,wich I would like to note is less than buying the Rustys full coil lift that some have found will sag big time real fast with out even adding an after market bumper

The OME struts and shocks are a little more than the Ranchos...but are worth it

i didnt have to pound the pinch weld when i was running 245/75/r16's on stock 16x7's

you may get lucky and not have to do that.

i did have to after i moved to 265/75/r16 on moab's...

I wondering about these too. I've noticed in pictures that the rears are pushed forward when lifted. I would like to take care of that when my Frankie comes in, but what are the drawbacks

Drawbacks are that once you start pushing the bottom of the axle back the rear u joint starts to bind up. Think about it alittle, the top remains in the same location, but you are forcing the bottom further back , to do it correctly you would need to move top and bottom back an equal distance or since you are lifting it move the top even further back, It will help some but not sure what long term effects you will have on it. You need to keep the angles correct on the driveline!

Were you running A/T or M/T's with the 245's?

my 245/75s fit just fine on my prelowered 02, rubbing under the foglight door. I haven't wheeled it like this yet, but I might because I don't think I'll have time to install my lift before this weekend. I think it's safe to say that you bust out the heat gun and push it in it'll never rub.

I dissagree with the use of longer lower trailing arms ,or lower control arms
for a few reasons the main ones being that if you push the bottom out you change the angle of your pinion
this can cause drive line vibes also when you move the axle back you change the location of the bumpstop
so to do it correctly you need to move the bump stop on the unibody as well
The idea is there but like others have said you need to move the top
The reason the people put adjustable control arms on TJ's is to get the pinion angle correct
but even then they only need adj. uppers

The longer lower controla arms have been done by many here without ill effects...you are just moving them back enuff to keep the rear wheels out of the front of the rear wheel well. It is a very small change...

You might want to PM skrracing to see if he had any problems with the arms or ask Heather/Quinn at ALLJs since they sell the arms.

But only a few degrees would still put added stress on the u joints and "could " cause driveline vibes I would think. After I did the first 3 inch lift on my Cherokee I had vibes just from that.

I have been wrong before and will be the first to admit it but ....

But we are talking only 2" of lift here...2.5" of lift does not cause vibration on most KJs so he should be safe at 2". He probably won't need the arms with only 2" of lift anyway...his rear tires won't be pushed forward enuff to worry about it.

I agree with you on that point Darby that with 2 inches it will not be a problem, but it seems like some read these posts about two inches of lift and then think if they do 5 it will be the same. Every lift that I ever did I had to change the pinion angle some , due to most being over 4 to 6 some over 10 inches, but it was done right by raising the front of the pinion not pushing it down. I can see where it will help on the Libertys some but then it also may cause some problems when people use a 2.5 inch lift and 3 or 4 isolaters also, because it is pushing "down " on the pinion instead of bringing it up as you should do when lifting. Granted my experience has been mainly with leaves, not coils but all the same............. just trying to inform the uninformed

With an OME lift, you won't need new anything.
No rear arms, no new upper arms, and you won't have too many ball joint issues other than what they come with from the factory.
You can run a 245 tire, but yes, you'll probably need to pound down the pinch weld in the wheel well to keep them from rubbing. You can get around it by running wheel spacers or changing rims.
