Hello everyone, Well we are new to this forum and didn't really want to start this way. We have a 2003 Liberty Rocky Mountian Edition with 46,000 KM and the power steering has gone. At first it was sparatic and would work for a few weeks then just die only to come back agian. Well my wife is getting pissed and big arms, not cool or attractive ! Has any one else run into this type of problem before ? Anyhelp would be great I was told it might be a sticky pressure release valve in the pump. Thanks |

I had that problem with my camaro. Turned out that I had a 1/2" of sludge in my power steering resivoir (fluid broke down over time). Once the fluid warmed up it would stop working. Another cause could be something leaking on the serpintine belt or a faulty belt tensioner. Also check to make sure the serpentine belt is in good condition. Hope that helps. |

Have you checked the power steering fluid level? Ever changed the power steering fluid? Checked for any leaks? Pumps are cheap and easy to replace. |
