I have a 2005 CRD limited that I bought used with about 15,00 mi. When I cycle throught the steps on the EVIC all the displays cycle except the tire preasure and the train remote. Anyone not have either of these? I understand that I may not have the premium tire preasure system but shouldn't I have the Train remote step?
TIA
Bob V

You dont have the tire sensors, thats for sure. I dont know how you could make that work. What exactly is your problem though? Does it keep flashing? If it does, close all doors and disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes.

I do have the sencers, that is for sure. I have even gotten a "spair tire presure low" message before. I dont have a spacific problem other that the two "steps" that the owners manual and the FSM say thaqt I should have are not there. T need to know if any one else is missing these two "pages" on the EVIC

I have a 2005 Renegade that originally did not have an EVIC. I installed one I got from eBay. The only thing I noted (since I had the same...no pressure readings display screen) is that the EVIC/TPSM systems were offered differently for the 2005 KJ models than previous models. The TPMS system was produced/installed in 2 different ways for 2005 KJs...the "Base" Tire Pressure Monitoring System (which just stores the pressure data and calls for the amber light and chime if an error happens) and the "Premium" Tire pressure Monitoring System (which stores the data and then calls the EVIC to display the pressure info; 3 wheel sensor transponders in wheel wells FtRight, FtLeft, Rightrear). The Base system was available to the non-Limited KJ models w/o factory installed EVICs since the pressure sensors are in all KJ wheels. However, the Premium systems were installed in Limited KJ models along with an EVIC. They saved a few bucks on the non-Limited Libbys this way.

So, you may have a problem with your EVIC, WCM (Wireless Control Module), the transponders in the wheel wells or your sensors in the wheels. I'm guessing it may be between the EVIC and the WCM. Maybe not sending/receiving the bus signals properly. Or, it may not have been "opened" within the programming at the factory to provide the info to the EVIC display. Stranger things have happened.

Though, I have been told that the "Premium" functions cannot be enabled in non-Limited models having only the "Base" Tire Pressure Monitoring systems (no wheel well transponders?)....I'm thinking it really can. Though a different WCM or even the set of transponders in the wheel wells may be needed...or maybe just a reprogramming from a tech with a DRB III.

You should have a dealer check it out since it is not showing you the info as intended and if you're still within warrenty period.

Please, keep us informmed. I was writing a good install guide for the 2005 EVIC modules. I just didn't complete it. There are a lot of variables from models year to year and within a given year. So, an install guide is needed per year and maybe per revision....there were at least 3 different sets of wire colors in the 2005 EVIC circuit. What a pain.

Chris
