Has anyone used one of these:

..with the mopar tow package hitch? I've heard of issues with the depth of the receiver with some hitch shafts, so I wanted to ask first before ordring one.

Thanks.
Dan

Yup...I have the same reciever shackle and it fits just fine in my 02'. When you speak of Mopar I'm assuming you're talking of the stock reciever in the tow package. I know that on some smaller new SUVs (dont think chrysler products necessarily) use a smaller reciever...
I don't think Mopar sells an aftermarket reciever assembly??

It's noisy when it drags if I'm approaching some steep climbs....it makes a wierd clinking sound...but nothing major. Works awesome...

Probably most used part on my Jeep...and I don't normally use it for myself! :o

They are OK but I dont like any thing that hangs out and gets hung up on stuff
I know that most people dont think it is an issue but if you look at the bottom side of the hich
on my TJ you will see another story
wore the welds down and by the end of a ride it is shining from rubbing on dirt
to extend it out longer would cause issues

Yea, I drag my hitch a few times when offroad. It really saves the bottom of that bumper!

Those are good if you ever need to pull sideways on the keep, but I just stick the pin through the loop in the strap. Some people worry about bending the pin but if you have a good one it shouldnt. Ive pulled trees before where I had to get a good run and go and it never bent anything.

I was laid up on the side of a hill once and had to use Meh-kicks D-ring so we could use a red-devil to pull my Jeep sidesways via a tree. Worked great.

I've used mine plenty over the last couple of years. (for myself and others :D ) It's been great with the stock rear hitch. I looked at a no name one before I got the Warn. The generic one wasn't in a u-shape so much as a u-shape that got hot and was crooked. Make sense? Figured it was better to go with one with higher quality check/evenly shaped to help pull better without finding out that there may be a weak spot.

I have heard that in some states it is against the "Law" to have anything in your receiver if it is not in use. I have also seen on here somewhere that a member was rearended with their trailer ball in and it potentially did more damage.

Not sure bout all this, But if/when I get one i will keep it out till I need it. Would not want to rattle.

I run either one of those or a hitch in mine all the time. I got rearended a few months ago and had a hitch in mine 6 car pile up I was the front vehicle, and was shoved over 7 foot, PT Cruiser that hit me was towed away along with 3 of the others, 5 people left in E Squads, mine had some dirt on the bottom of the spare, thats it! If it wouldnt of been on there it would of been rear gate/ bumper/ rear glass etc! WAIT I could of gotten an RL rear bumper then

I seriously dont believe that the laws in some states that make your receiver ball being illegal if not being used were aimed at KJ's.

Quite the opposite it is probrably aimed at pick-ups and what not. If you have ever walked behind a truck that is parked with his booty end backed into a side walk and tripped over the freaking hitch sticking a foot into the sidewalk for no other reason than the drivers lazeyness... I digress.
