I've had my revtek lift installed for a few months, but I think I broke something ha ha. Looing to install some OME HDs until spring/warm weather, also plan on getting the new front bumper on the scene. This lift wont hold up for that. NOW FOR THE PROBLEM when i drive over a speed bump, or up into my driveway fast (its a sharp short hit, about 2 ft rise) it sounds like im bottoming out or something, sorta hiss hisses at me. did i blow a strut? whats this noise i'm hearing.? my money tree in the backyard is dormant for the winter, so no frankenlift or rockfather as of it. Heres what I want 2 OME HD springs (with Rancho front struts #17505) that will net me the 1.5, Since I currently have 2.5, i dont want to go back to smaller, rocky road claims they're the only ones with the outside strut spacer, but to buy that seperately, is the the "front trim spacer" offered for 20 bucks? and what does the frankenlift provide then? I dont like the idea of the poly spacer, upper strut plates etc etc. but are there any problems with those on the frankenlift. I'm probably getting als arms, then the strut/spring so I dont mind going up higher. Pretty sure that's all I need. Thanks |

Probably a combination of the struts and the swaybar end-links making the noise. Mine did the same thing with the RRO OTT lift. |

I would say the shock is bottoming out. That type of lift lets the shock bottom out before the upper A-Arm hits the bumpstop. It usually destroys the shock. |

It usually destroys the shock. If you mean the front, then yeah, as its "squished" moreso now then stock. yeah, im waiting for something to go for an excuse to throw the ome HDs in and possibly als arms. I'm leaving the rear set in, since I wont need springs back there for awhile, and just replaced the shocks with the lift, So will i get the same amount of lift with just ome HDS, meaning just the front strut/spring. And how does the ome springs keep the shock from bottoming out, longer spring/shock combo? I'd like to get new tires/moabs before the lift finally gives out, but oh well. |

2FT!!!!!!!! oh my god i hope your hearing something!!!! I think you ment 2in right. well anyway when you put the lift in did you torque everything down after you put it back on the ground? An did you torque them to the correct FT-LBS? |

Just go with OME HDs, new Rancho struts and clevis you will have 2.25/2.5 inches of lift at least, will be ready for a bumper etc. Sounds like you blew one of the struts to me but..... Now for the clevis lift with Ranchos there is a trick to it so if you go that route let me know Tom |

I mean my driveway is a 2foot rise, not the amount of lift, so I think the quick compression blew the struts. TOMMUDD-I have not heard about this trick, I wasnt planning on going the nut route, unless the "front trim spacer" offered by rocky road is the same thing. can anyone chime in? also, i added a bit more to the original post EDIT: If i get the HD coils/Rancho 17505s whats the difference between the rockfather and frankenlift COMPONENTS I see the rockfather has a strut spacer plate, and the frankenlift has the daystar strut plates AND a poly spacer, is this better, or just net you more height. Thanks. |
