Since PSC isnt making anymore rock guards. I was wondering what the Off Road, Rock Climbing gurus think about this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-Differential-Guard-SOLID-Chrysler-8-25-SkidPlate_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33731QQihZ016QQitemZ260139910811QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW |

Cheap, simple protection. It looks similar to the one I made and ran on my blue KJ for a while. It worked fine and I believe it is working fine for the new owner too. |

The ARB is awesome but not currently available for the 8.25. I was checking them out at All J's and the dipstick and drain is very cool. The thing is Beefy. |

I have the Rough Stuff Specialties diff cover also. But it just sits in my garage because it leaks, it has been rewelded once allready with out success. It makes a good door stop though. |

its for a D30. I don't think it will fit the KJ unless maybe the front. But I think the front is D30a which is different. Is it not? |

I think the ARB front will fit the D30A but isn't normally needed because you have a front skid that protects the diff. (the covers appear to be the same from a D30A to a regular D30) I do however wonder if it might help to strengthen the D30A case some? I know that the failures are in the pinion area so probably not enough to spend the money on it. Maybe we should all push ARB Seth to get them to make the 8.25. (I would be surprised if it wasn't on the drawing board already) |

Maybe this is something Seth could touch on... |

I got the Crane High Clearance diff cover. Not sure if they are making them any more. Searched for their website, but couldn't find anything. The thing is bullet proof. Cost a couple pennies, but was well worth it. later, mike [img][/img] |

http://www.4x4xplor.com/rockcrusher.html I did a search and have found comments on other forums saying "I wish they did an 8.25 cover" So I'd say they don't. |

I asked a question, and Im confused on the answer?? 12/07/2007 10:23PM So your rings don't fit if you have a gas tank skid ? Purple Cranium @ Purple Cranium Products 12/12/2007 01:38AM Mike, If it were just a ring it would fit, but because it is positioned in front and protects your Ring gear, some applications may interfere. Our Spiders protrude about 1"...so you need at least 1.125" between your existing cover and the skid plate, you should be ok. PCP ok If im reading this right they are saying the ring goes in front of the axle??? |

id rather go this way for protection. id just save the cash and buy the arb. at least you know then that you never have to worry about breaking it. an also that you dont have to worry about all sorts of other things because its designed without about everyting you could think of in mind already |
