It will allow the dealership not to honor the warranty if the problem was somehow caused by the lift. However, if it is something unrelated, it is still covered under the warranty unless specified otherwise in the manual or warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act protects both parties. |

They can say they will not warranty anything to do with the suspension. Engine and tranny are safe though. |

Well, yes and no. ALthough a lift usually only effects the suspension warranty, I have read posts where changing tire size, as usually accompanies a lift, has caused warranty problems on 2 fronts: 1. Tire size change changes the operational RPM 2. Larger tires/wheels, as unsprung weight, are harder on the vehicle then weight added elsewhere. I am not implying that either of these are in any way valid, just that others have had problems due to it. I guess the bottom line is that a decent dealer will take care of you while one that wants to deny a claim will do so one way or another. AS the tire size has already changed, I'd go for it and never look back. |

i have a lift, triple rear isolators, conduit washers on the front, bigger tires, beat up rock rails and skid plates, arb bumper. blah blah blah.. i have had the rear u joint replaced, the tranny rebuilt, pinion seal replaced, lbj's replaced twice, all under powertrain warranty, so i think it just depends on what dealership you go to. |

((thanks for the feedback..what good news)) If the dealer gives you any problems, just take your business to another dealer. You will eventually find one that will perform the work in hopes of getting your future business. |

I popped the front diff while offroading and it was covered fully by warranty - it depends on the dealer and who runs the service dept. |

I have to go with others on this ,it will depend on the dealer ship. I will say this however ,The local dealer sells lifted jeeps but NOTHING over 2" as there is some fine print that was passed down from Mopar that states something about lifts over 2" it also states something about tires that are more than 2" over stock hight ect. ect. This is why I did the OME stuff and one of the reasons why I did the MTR's OME is >2" and MTR's are a stock or OE tire so they can not blame them for power train issues if they cause power train issues why offer them from the factory on wranglers? This was also the advise I was given by the guys who do the lifts for the dealer They said that I should not have issues with ANY 245/75 but they can not argue with an OE tire |

The only problem with that is if the first dealership "flags" the vehicle it will show at every dealership. Moss-Ferguson Act is for your protection but you really don't want to 'fight" with a dealership. Keep a set of stock wheels and tires (to show no extra weight) and keep your Jeep clean and in good shape. Appearance is half the battle. |
