Post subject:  New Lift

This Weekend I replaced my Rustys spring with OME HD that I was collecting over last month. There was nothing wrong with my Rustys lift, I just got an opportunity to get OMEs so I got them. I was worried about compressing the HDs with the hand compressor but they compressed just fine and I was able to assemble the strut with no problems. The whole compressing thing wasnt that bad except a little spooky at times. :D But anyways when I replaced the rear spring I sat at the same height as I did with my rustys springs. As for the front, with the same amount of clevis and OME HD 927s I ended up sitting higher. It looks nice and level now and the ride is solid and not too stiff. With the 245/75/16s MTR I gained 4 1/4 lift from stock. I was really worried about OME springs not giving me as much lift as Rutys but it turned out better than I thought. Oh and I don't know if its my MTRs that drown out everything but I could barely hear my noise I was getting anymore. In the end so far Im very happy with OMEs. I now understand why some of the guys on here such big advocates for OMEs.

Congratulations! Can you post a picture or two?

I wonder how a pair of 926 springs up front would ride with stock springs on 2" spacers in the rear. Any experience with that? I want to raise my front a half-inch (currently using a 1.5" Daystar spacer under my coil spring) to level out the ride. I don't want a clevis lift; too much room for error. I don't have a steel bumper or winch, and don't have plans for one. Could I get 2" of lift in front just from OME med.-duty springs?

I posted some pictures in Pictures thread, called OME lift. Check it out. I would hate to tell you wrong on how much lift you will get with 926s because I didn't have experience with them but I know one thing, 927s put my ride higher than Rustys even thought they only were supposed to give 1.5 - 1.75 of lift.

Hold that champagne order matey! Arr! Image

The springs will settle a bit over time. You could end up with the same height as the rustys after a few weeks of using the OME one.

two years and over 45000 miles (with the ARB) and mine have not setteled much at all, maybe 1/8 inch or so in the beginning

Our med. springs with stock every thing but the tranny skid have settled maybe 1/8" after 12K+ and a few good off road trips so HD with stock should be fine
