Post subject:  Question about my Renegade roof light bar, light caps?

I've had the truck about a year now, and have been wondering about the plastic section of these lights. Seems to be a seam (no pun intended) right across the center from the left to right side, and looks like it should interlock? Mine looks like its almost... separating, got about a half centimeter gap and it might be larger on one side than the other. Am I just paranoid and it's supposed to be like that? Just squeezing the sides together barely moves the halves. I'll try to snap some pics when I'm back home this weekend.

edit:
another question for you guys - are there any other caps for these lights available? i think it would look sweet with some "hella" logo caps or something like that.

I believe that it is supposed to be like that. I have taken mine apart a couple of times and that is how it has always fit.

On a side note, do any of you get a squeaking or rattling sound :x from your light bar while driving at highway speeds in cold temperatures?

I've had my light bar for over 3 years, taken it apart several times and it has always fit just the way you're describing. Just make sure the mounting screws that attach it to the roof are well covered in waterproofing goop, otherwise you will find a leak inside during heavy rains.

I have taken mine to 100 MPH. the only noise I heard was the sound of my heart beat and a quick prayer to god asking him why in the hell did I need to go so fast, and plaes keep the KJ on the road.
HaHa

Only had it at 100 MPH for a moment.

But the wind noise was something that I did notice after I installed the light bar. WOW it is kool hearing that. I am a freaking nut job and things like that make me happy.

No rattling or any foreign noises coming from mine. I've had mine apart several times as well, to adjust the lights (Jeep is "Bright Silver" and I was getting a NASTY reflection off the hood onto the windshield). Never had any issues and mine has the "seam" you mention as well. Perfectly normal.
