I was expecting this thing to be a lot more heavy duty... But anyway, can someone show me a picture of the finished product after the collar is installed? I have an idea of where it goes but I'd like to have a better idea before I crawl under my truck... Someone had shown me the picture before and I didn't bookmark it.. Also, is there a recommended torque for the "bolts"? Thanks... |

No pics but it goes around the pinion shaft area,oh and don't torque the bolts unless it's a perfect fit(and it'll never be since the diff is casted) otherwise you can deform the pinion area causing seal leaks and pinion bearing failure.Use tread locker on the bolts and tighten them just till they have a little resistence on them(maybe 5ft-lbs of torque, basically just past finger tight).

I've got a steel one, machined to fit perfect(as perfect as you can for a cast diff) I hope I didn't over torque it? I knew not to tighten it too tight but I'm a tad over snug! Joe |

I picked up a used aluminum one form one of the LOST members and it fit good , but I did tighten it a little more than finger tight |

I got the steel collar from Mc-Master car. Part #60665K61 Its 3.5in and the diff is 3 9/16. Got a 1/16 machined off and it worked perfect. Best way to do it is to have the Jeep close by so you can check it once they machine it some.
ID of collar after machining:
Be ready to have fun getting it tightened up.

That does look tight but it looks like enough room for an allen wrench... I paid uh... more than 35 |

Hey Jeepjeepster, that's the same one I have machined to fit! I put silicone gasket around the inside so their would be no electrolisis from the disimilar metals. Nice pic's mine didn''t come out so hot! Joe |

What about the PN for a CRD, I've seen it before somewhere in the forum but can't find it now. I just know its a little smaller in diameter. |
