I am trying to acheive a lil more lift in the front and I'm doing so by loosing weight.

Who has switched to synthetic?

Wheres the best price/product?

Is 5/16" big enough?

How much could i fit on a Warn M8000 that has 100ft 5/16" wire rope?

Will my standard roller fairlead work, or should I buy a new aluminum Hawse fairlead?

There are many choices for synthetic line,I went with the line made for my WARN XP9500,WARN makes it and is about $600 for 100' of 3/8" line.Others make ropes but I can't say on if they are any good or not,get at least 5/16",3/8" would be better. You can fit 100' of 5/16" or 80' of 3/8" on your winch. You can not use your roller fairlead unless you switch to the special rollers(ARB sells them,$$$$$) so you'll need a alloy hawse fairlead to prevent ruining your synthetic rope.

600? ouch, another fine warn product. I as looking at some at www.winchline.com that was 173 with 10 ft. of chafe guard, and a spliced eye with hook. it was 5/16" 100'.

I got some from an advertisement on winchdepot.com. I think it was 150 or so. I ended up finding the same stuff from a seller on ebay and sold mine for 300. I'm currently still using steel ha ha.. Oh well.

We're running the Master Pull Superline. On the KJ - 100ft of the 5/16" line on SuperWinch X9000 - on the YJ 3/8" of 100ft on the same winch. Around $200 for 1ooft with hook. only weighs ~4lbs for 100ft with hook (~35-40 lbs for the same length with steel cable)

It is a very fine product, and the extra cost mostly comes from the first wrap(of the winch drum) is made out of a high heat/high strength synthetic rope then goes to a regular high strength rope to prevent the rope from melting from the extreme high heat the winch drum can put out during long pulls.

I have a very basic amsteel blue 80' rope that I bought on ebay. It's still name brand amsteel blue, but doesn't have any of the special first wrap, or a fancy rope guard, or a nice yellow hook. Instead it uses standard climbing rope sheath and the hook that came with my winch. The way I see it, if I winch once a month it's a lot, and never so long that my winch gets hot enough to melt the rope, so I am happy. I paid under $100.
