All right I already posted a couple questions on Detroit TT, and also bothered Troy a couple times, this will be the end of it I swear.

Does my mechanic have anything odd to worry about while installing a TT in the Dana 30a? I think KJ4ME mentioned a problem with the bolts or something in an old post.

Also TT wont make the ESP go crazy or anything right? Anybody have a TT and ESP?

Thanks guys. Stuff isn't cheap so I always check then check again.

Putting a TT in the rear isn't the best idea if your are looking for more traction offroad. The TT is a great LSD for the front of the KJ but if you want the ultimate traction a selectable locker or a "lunchbox" locker would be best. thats my .02 censt anyway!

As far as install problems-------Yes the ring gear bolts is a problem, sometime in the '90's Dana changed the size of the ring gear bolts in the D30,well the D30A was made with the smaller D30 bolts. You can't use the larger bolts or the ring gear for the larger bolts either since each ring and pinion set is machined together. As far as the problem Detroit said screw making 2 different TT's(and all other of there lockers/LSD's) and made all there stuff for the larger bolt versions. With that said now the ring gear bolts are smaller then the holes in the TT,Detroit says when torqued it'll be fine.Others say differently(as I do) but any good gear installer will now about this problem(might not expect it in the D30A though) and companies make little collars to fit around the bolts and take up the gap and your good to go.I ordered mine from 4wheelparts in Tacoma WA,donen't remember the part# but they had them in stock, about $0.50 apiece.

The second ?'s I can't say forsure but I would believe that it wouldn't,might even make the ESP kick in less, who knows until you try it.

The TT is 10000000000% better(and stronger) then a "lunchbox" locker-----I agree about the selectible locker(ARB) or a full Detriot in the rear.
