| Post subject: | Installing LIFT |
I am instlling a Rough Country 3 inch lift tomarrow afternoon, and was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks to make the installation go as smooth as possible. This is going to be my first lift install on any vehicle, but I am for the most part mechanically inclined. I am installing it at my firehall, we have a vehicle lift in the garage there and figured this would be the best way to get things at eye level. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. This is the lift I got: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 18170&rd=1 I will be posting before and after pics when the project is complete, also hope to get some good install pics in the process. The Rough Country lift is just a spacer lift from what I have seen, pretty cheap setup. Should be easy to install drop the clevis and put the spacer in and reinstall , rear real easy take the shocks off, install the spacer under the spring and install NEW shocks. OK I see they at least give you new rear springs and shocks at least. Make sure you tighten the clevis really well with that set up, also keep checking the struts as you will more than likely have to replace them soon with this type of lift. Its not too late to resell it and put a Daystar on |

Yeah, the front is just a spacer for the strut. but the back has no spacers, it has new longer nitro 9000 shocks and taller springs. |

be careful not to tighten the clevis too much or you can break it. using a rachet strap to pull the LCA down, just like most do more the frankenlift, may help get the lower clevis bolt back in. |

With a spacer lift up front you should install longer bumpstops. This will save your shocks from bottoming out and failing. |
