I know this is a stupid question, but I searched around for awhile and couldn't find an answer. Where the hell exactly would a tow hitch reciever mount on my '06 Sport? Is there a whole kit you can get somewhere with the tow bar and everything or do you just need the reciever? Thanks a bunch. |

on either side of the gas tank on the "frame rails" you will see bolt holes with threads in them, thats where the hitch goes. you can get hitches pretty much anywhere, curt, reese, uhaul, all make them, and if your going to be pulling a trailer you can get a mopar wiring harness which is VERY easy to install, or i think etrailer.com? has them too. |

Thanks. Yeah, I'm not really planning on towing a trailer or anything, I just want something to hook a tow strap to because people I know keep getting stuck in the snow up here. |

Once you install the hitch, you will still need to buy the receiver, ball and locking pin to hook up to a trailer. (don't forget all the goodies) |

I Know!!! I have 33,000 miles on my '04 and it is no where near that clean (or un-beat up)!!!! I was admiring the Jeepjeepster's air-ride rear suspension when I noticed that the... ah... ...'rear axle damper' (family friendly description) was still attached!!! I hd forgotten what it looks like on the vehicle. |

not to hijack this post, but can you also add the factory tow package aftermarket? Like all the heavy duty cooling stuff so that you can tow bigger loads? |

Yes you can. ETrailer and others sell the ATF Coolers. The OEM tow package also includes an Oil Cooler and a Power Steering cooler. Been debated on here if all were needed, but that is what give the KJ it's 5k towing rating. If you are not going to be pulling anything near 5k lbs then just do the reciever and harness. If you do pull anything I would consider the ATF cooler. |
