Alright, no one get mad at me, I'm still new to all of this painting stuff... I recently (a couple of months ago...) cleaned and sanded my bumper and painted it with rustoleum primer and rustoleum paint... i think that i am going to get it lineX'ed b/c of 3 things... i think their stuff is amazing, i don't like how when dirt, or anything sticky, such as is kicked up, it sticks to the bumper, and i just can't seem to keep it from scratching...

so my question is, is $225 too much for them to charge me?
it includes sandblasting, which is $75, and then $150 for the bumper.

That's cheap,I'd jump on that deal in a heart beat.Though the sand blasting charge is kinda high.

Considering they have to sand blast it, that sounds like a good price.

sounds like a hell of a deal. Justy had my new Gecko roof basket sandblasted for 60.00. so 75.00 might be a little high, but if they do it all, sounds like a good deal. Have you looked into popwdercoating it. get just about any color, even textured. not as durable as the LineX i think but a great finish that can be redone later if you need it to.

Troy, Is Linex re-doable if it is scraped off? Say if you hit a rock or a minor fender bender that scapes some off, can they just re-LineX that thing or that area?

That's actually cheap for Line-X. I assume that's not for the Extra. Probably $100 more. I had my RL Skink Super Sliders done with the Line-X Extra that includes the Kevlar and UV protection. Really turned out nice.

How much thickness and weight did that add?

Got some supersliderskinks coming sometime and exploring my options.

Look at it this way.......

I was quoted from five sources that basic black powdercoating would cost about $180. To get double coated (primer coating also) it was about $310.
To match the color would have been near $500.

Having it painted with matching paint, it would have been around $480.

Take that deal and run with it.

Sorry, I didn't weigh them before and after, but it had to have added a good amount of weight. It only added a little thickness to them. The grip on them is great. I can climb up on them with my icey ski boots on with no slipping, and no damaging the finish. They really look like they came that way. Turned out so nice that Line-X put them on display at the front of their store for a week. Anyone who opens their car door into them sure is going to be sorry.

PRIMER for powder, I don't think so. That doesn't sound right. Anyway, I got my Geko rack powdercoated for 70.00. Of course that was black to match my black KJ.

using spray-on bedliner on rock rails is totally pointless unless you never offroad your KJ.If you actually offroad and happen to use the rails the bedliner will scrap right off, just wasted all that money for nothing.Just rattle can them, cheaper and easier to touch up when those rocks scrape the paint off.

Very good point, but mine aren't for off roading. They're for climbing up on to get my skis off the rack, and for mall protection from inconsiderate car drivers. They also look sweet.
