not too hard if you are familiar with transmissions. biggest problem i had was keeping the transmission fluid mess under control.

I haven't had much experience with transmissions, however I installed mine without out a whole lot of trouble.....as was stated above...the red mess
is...well...a mess! My biggest problem was disconnecting the 23 pin connector from the valve body. Like an idiot I ended up breaking one of the locking pins by prying with a screw driver. There is a gray lever that you have to flip down (if I remember correctly) that dis-engages the locking mechanism. I thought I took pictures, I'll have to see if I can find them when I get home.

The transgo shift kit comes with instructions that assumes you know a few things about putting a shift kit in. Things like, draining the fluid, removing the pan and whatnot. A service manual would be helpful to cover the bases.

crisper firmer shifts without the lag, main thing better for the transmission

I just installed my kit in my 42rle.....but dont reccomend it.....waiste of time.....does nothing

they make shop manuals fo the 45....so I would get one or ask a tanny shop for advise....there ae things you need to know that the kit doesnt tell you... for example...the shifting mechanism must be in low range for the valve body to be installed back into the trans. Thats just one example and may not be true on the 45 but is tue fo the 42. Just small things but they will pevent it fom being a sucess.....good luck

No, didnt know anything about it at the time.

I take it he means you need to put the tranny in 1st gear and not put the tcase in low? Putting the tcase in low would do nothing for the tranny.
