I can't seem to find where to buy the shift kit. I found this kit, sk604 it includes the 42rle,but it's also good for the older transmissions http://www.transgo.com/sk_dodge.php From what I can figure that is the wrong kit right? Is that the right transgo company in the link? |

Have you ever put yours in yet? I saw some threads where you had got one but didn't get it installed. |

I really didnt notice any diference at all after the install and I dont believe I would do it again......even though I thoroughly believe in shift kits for all trannys just for the fact they help its longevity. My tranny didnt respond at all to the kit so, if I had to do it again , I wouldnt. But if you have questions please feel free to ask and I can walk you through it. |

Is that kit jeepster posted the same you put in? I saw one thread about a kit that aps built. Is the sk604 that kit? From what I've seen the 604 kit takes the older valve body and brings it to new specs. It doesn't sound like it is the correction kit that I've heard about. I'm just wanting to make sure I'm buying the right thing. Also, who is aps and how can I get a hold of them, anyone know? |

It's a shame that they don't make a reprogramming kit for the 42RLE like the 45RFE. It makes a big difference. Jeepjeepster, once you save up the money, take it to Cottman Transmission on Winchester Rd. in Lexington. They do all my transmission and differential work. They installed my 4.10 gears in the rear, front diff from a 4 cylinder with 4.10's, reprogramming kit, and torque converter. |

I has the "correction" shift kit installed for the 42RLE. I did notice that the shifts were tighter than before, decreasing the lag time between the shifts. The difference is more noticeable when you accelerate hard. |
