Does anyone know if these rails fit 2006 Liberty?

I have the so-called molded mudguards front and the some rails apparently don't fit if you have them, do you think these rails are compatible with these mudguards?

That said ... I'm sure those would probably work, but I would be more tempted to get something that would offer actual protection. I would think if those came down on some Lava Rock, they would ding up and bend for sure.

There are many vendors out there who make Sliders. Is it pretty easy for you to order from the States? What do the mopars cost there?

For the price of the KJ Skink Sliders from Rock lizard, I'd get them over the Mopar ones, cost is about the same.

i have some RL super skink sliders on order... there is going ot be no comparison to the mopar ones, b/c i have them and i bent them!

i have their KJ komodo dragon rear bumper and it is sweeettt, and that is indication of their work, so that's why i will be getting the sliders, front bumper, and roof rack system eventually... just not sure which one!

It does look like they might interfere with the molded guards you have now. Also, as most have pointed out, there are several aftermarket brands that do a lot better job for the same money. I don't know why they would use aluminum tubing for a guard as it has to be thin to be shaped like that. It looks like it's more for appearance and a light-duty step than anything else. There is no protection at the level of the pinch weld down the whole length of the jeep and the brackets look like they'll get mangled with one good rock or branch hit.

Unless you're simply shopping for a set of steps for the kids or grandma to use getting into the seats, these should be low on your list of options.

Side rails are only cosmetic they may prevent somebody from opening their car door into you at the mall but off roading it's a waste of money. If you want them to be functional they need to be mated with slider to give you your cosmetic look with the off road protection.

I think if I go for rails it will be sth. more heavy duty, as you suggested. There are companies here that specialize in import of spare parts and accessories, usually less expensive than the dealers. By the way, parts for the big brother Grand Cherokee are much more accessible here since they are much more common than the Liberty.

It might be simpler to have a local welder fab up a set for you over there. Save on shipping costs and any import duties you may have there. Might be worth looking into.
