Is it just me or is the search function on this board different than everyone I've ever been on? I can't seem to hone in on stuff. I always get like 430+ pages that have keywords on them...

right now I'm trying to find a thread that showcases peoples rear cargo setups

and

info on where people are placing second batteries

Thank you!

Yeah, I got that problem too, always been fine on other boards, but this one seems to toss up a good million plus hits.

I hate the search "feature" on these forums...

and when you do go to a topic from the search results and then try to use the back button on your browser to return to the list of finds you get a page not found error and have to hit the refresh button to get the results list back.

Yeah...the search function isn't the greatest...that's for sure.

However, I find two things useful:

Use Firefox as your browser an you won't have that refresh problem that IE gives you.

When using the search...

By default, the search has this selected: Search for any terms or use query as entered

Try entering your search terms and clicking on this: Search for all terms

You will not only narrow the number of results...you should find you get more accurate results.

just a tip that has worked well for me.

Or if all else fails, you can use Google to search just this forum for specific topics.

x2 on using FF, I don't ever see that problem when going back to a search page.

To narrow down your search try using 'and' between specific words. So if you were looking for threads about a Daystar lift you would type 'daystar and lift'. It then looks for only threads that have both of those words in them. I know someone posted how to search a specific site with Google but I can't find it right now. When I do I'll post it up (if they don't get to it first).

fix is to right click and open in new window.

Or you can follow the instructions on the search page an include the word AND in uppercase between each word you want to include in the string.

The search always works for me.
