Does anyone have any experience towing with a comparible KJ set up to me?
Ive got an 04 3.7 kJ Renne with a frankenlift. Ive put a K&N cold air intake on it and am in the process of upgrading my exhaust.

The trailer Im looking at is a Jayco 'Baja' model(about 2100pnds empty).
Do you think the little gasser can pull it comfortably? We live in a moderately mountainous area in BC Canada.

Any experience would be great.

Thanks

There's a lot of owners here who tow with lifted KJs. I've towed fairly large utility trailers with mine with no probs. Where u at?

Nice camper! We just bought a Jayco 'Jay series' pop up and I plan on towing it with my kj from time to time. Weve got a 94 Grand with the I-6 that tows it for now(That Jeep tows about the same of the 3.7l) and it does 'ok.' The Jay series weighs 3k loaded.

You will have no problems towing a trailer that light. Just dont expect it to easily hold 55mph on bigger hills. Slow down and keep it in 2nd gear if it starts hunting for gears when going up big hills and always keep o/d locked out.

Remember that its imperative that you keep all the fluids changed(tranny one of the most important) when towing with your Jeep. Dont wait till 60k or later to change out the tranny fluid, tcase, and diffs.

You'll only notice it's there on the hills...

My Liberty is lifted with the Daystar lift and I tow a Rockwood popup camper (also lifted) into the backcountry and desert all the time. Tent trailer loaded weighs in around 3,500 and the Liberty pulls it great over the 4-wheel drive backcountry BLM roads. I always tow with the overdrive off when pulling the camper and that helps. It does lug down, however, on the freeways when going up grades, even with the over-drive off. Just need to take it slow up the grades and shift the transmission down if you need to. You definitely will not win any speeding contests, that's for sure. :)

I have a Jayco Baja 10Y that I pull with my KJ. Does alright, little sluggish on hills. If I put a quad on the deck, it could be a little dicey with that much weight so close to the hitch. Unless I'm on flat level ground, I leave the overdrive off most of the time. Other than that, its a lot of fun.

How do I post a photo???

By the way, the Jayco Baja 10 series is about 3000lbs dry with a 4000lb GVW.

Sorry, I just checked and its about 2400lbs empty with a 4500lb gvw. Filling it with water alone will add about 200lbs.
