hi folks!
i have some screeching (sounds like metal on metal) coming from my suspension whenever i turn to the left. i even got a clonk sound once, but this has only happened once. i've lifted the jeep but can't feel any 'play' at the wheels. the lower ball joints were replaced last year.
i also get some sort-of-metallic sound coming from somewhere whenever i drive away with the vehicle when it's cold, near freezing. again this sounds like metal on metal with maybe lack of lubrication somewhere being the cause.
i don't know if these two issues are related.
the jeep has just had a full lube service with high quality lubricants all round which i thought might have 'cured' this problem.
could it be brake pads not releasing 100% on the one side maybe? they are pretty worn down so maybe they're binding.
any ideas of what could be up?
thanks in anticipation
jonathan

The noise you hear when its cold and you first drive it sounds normal. Alot of times condensation builds up on the back pads and causes some metal on metal noise till you hit the brakes.

Did you check the bearings and lower balljoints on the front?
