does someone on the forum have pics of tow hooks and where they are bolted to ordering my front ones and wondering what the bolt on to install them going to put them and the skids on myself. Any advice on skids and hooks to make install easy would be appreciated thanks.

I do not have pics, but the tow hooks come with directions. It was really simple. You locate the two mounting holes on each side, slide the m-bolt in so one leg is falling out of each hole ( keep the long leg out & slide the short leg in), slide hook onto legs, tighten nut. 10 minute job on my '05.

2005-2007's don't forget to cut the "notch" out of the bumper! 8) or just trim the whole bottom right off! :o

I put my skids on last week. Gas tank skid is pretty heavy to hold and bolt at the same time so I stacked my college text books and phone books under it until it was flush. Also the closest bolt to the middle of the KJ on the passenger side is a PITA to get on due to the exhaust pipe. I had to take my rear wheel off to get it on. FYI. It was fun quick project though.

Another tip, especially if you have the hitch, is to use some medium sized zip ties. with the text books (or a floor jack) raise the skid and zip it in place on both sides through the middle hole and the access hole. riase up the hitch, and start a bolt on onje side. then another start the two bolts on both sides then cut the zippers and start the remaning bolts then torque then right up.

Took me about 15 minutes to figure out the sequence then it went like butter.

I just installed the front hooks on my '02 2 weeks ago. I had to remove the entire front facia to install. I had aquired factory installed tow hooks that do not use the "M" bolt, it uses a steel plate with studs pressed in. The biggest PITA was reinstalling the facia using the recomended plastic rivets from NAPA. Unfortunately the standard pop rivet gun doesn't work and NAPA would happily sell me a gun fro $30.00. So I improvised and used pliers and vise grips plus some push in type rivets also from NAPA. The Hooks were easy the facia was a challenge.

If anybody has or knows how to get those "M" bolts I would love to know as I have a set of hooks waiting and do nt want to go thru what Rush345 went thru. Dealer will sell me the plate with studs but claims he can not get "M" bolts.
Thanks

Despite the PITA it was I feel the plate with stud design is a stonger mount system. Well woth the extra work. 8)

Here are a couple of pictures for what they're worth. It was hard to get a good shot laying on my back.

Thanks James,
I think that part requires taking off the front facia to install. The M bolts are suppsed to be able to be "fished" through existing wholes from underneath. Dealer can get me them. He says.
Thanks for info.

I put front tow hooks on my wifes 2004 lib and what a PITA. My kit came with a U bolt and one regular bolt. Very difficult to get wrench up there and put on the nut with out pushing the U bolt back up and out. Had to use universal swivel extensions just to get to the nuts. :x

Put front hooks on on Saturday using the M-bolt. Not hard, unless you count the fact that I forgot I don't have a 15 mm socket! I had to use a 15 mm wrench! Talk about a PITA!

On a somewhat related note, has anyone installed the rear hook on a 2002? It bolts to the rear 2 gas tank skid holes, the little hole-insert thingy that you have to slide in, and an existing screw hole. Problem is... I don't have the last screw hole!!! Any suggestions?
