Handle for hatch glass? How much do they cost, where to buy?

Post subject:  Handle for hatch glass? How much do they cost, where to buy?
My KJ came without the little "handle" or grip that is on the glass portion of the hatch. I am OCD when it comes to my cars when they're clean, and they're usually clean. I can't stand fingerprints on glass, and I'm sick of trying to close the glass without touching it lol. Where can I find the plastic "pad" to put on there, and is there any trick to placing it in the right spot?


PS- is it just me, or does the search function really suck on this forum. Honestly the worst I've ever used, totally unrelated results come up.

You must have an '03 reny... 8) me too. I don't know why they decided not to put the glass pad on this particular model but anyway I ordered mine a while ago..Go here: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ ... eid=214583 And type in Jeep Liberty 2004(because it didn't come with the 03!) and it'll be Part #55360709AA (Now for some reason the illustration doesn't match the product, but trust me..this is it.) As far as putting it on correctly.. Wash the section of window & wipe with rubbing alcohol & let it dry. Then (what I did) Is mark the center of the glass at the bottom with a pencil then marked the pad's center..lined em up and kept my thumbs flush with the bottom edge of the pad to make sure that the bottom edge of the pad matched up perfectly with the bottom edge of the glass :wink:

looks like they call it a "Glass Shield" and it is not even shown on the drawing, but it is 9.00 bucks and change

shipping will be more than the part.

i found it for the 03 liberty it is under lift gate, lift glass, pad, then glass shield on that site.

My 02 Limited did not come with the "push pad", I cut one out of stainless steel, painted it black and glued it to the back window. You can always go to a sheet metal shop and ask for a scrap of metal and paint it. Should be free.

Just buy the OEM replacement pad for the 02' or '04+ as I (and woody) mentioned and you're set.. thee end.

my daughters 03 Limited didn't have it either. I think I saw them on Jparts.com for around $10

found it. Pad-Flipper glass.
