International Herald Tribune article on the recent spat of UBJ complaints. Heard about this just this morning and figured I'd see what I could find.

Yes I heard about it on the news last night here in Toledo, said they were looking into it. The KJ I got the ARB off of was an 03 and he had UBJ go on him ( of course was using a OTT lift)
If anything new comes out today here in town will post it later

Tom

that's a definite possibility now drybones! But let's say ya go new with Al's Upper A-arms and Moog Lower Balls Joints.. This latest possible recall is for the Upper Ball Joints now instead, so the problem if it exists in theory would still be there..right  Does moog make UBJ replacements?

you can not replace the upper ball joints the whole arm has to be replaced

What he is talking about is that Al's Arms come with serviceable Moog ball joints that would replace the UBJs on the stock upper control arms.

I bet at least 75% or better of those UBJ failures are on lifted KJ's.

If they issue a recall for a vehicle then lifted or not 200 miles or 200,000 miles they have to do it an can not charge you a dime extra
I hope they do recall them that way I get new ones for free and dont have to worry about it

But if they investgate it correctly and find that most where lifted then there may not be a recall since a lift will add extra stress on OEM parts not ment for the added hieght.
