A 3/8" drive flex head ratchet,15" extension,3/8" impact swival(normal swival will not work),and a 18mm deepwell socket is what I use. With this set-up I do not need to remove anything else from the engine bay to get the 2 bolts out of the UCA mounts. The balljoint nut is to easy,a cresent wrench and a 10mm socket and 3/8" ratchet, then give the knuckle a few good wacks from a 3lb hammer next to where the UBJ stud goes through the knuckle to release it.Takes about 30 min each side, better if engine is cold to prevent burning yourself.

Yep that impact swival is a life saver for doing the JBA UCA's,the back bolts at least since you don't need it for the front bolts. You can get a Stanley version for less then $10 that works really good, also Sears has them for for not a bad price either.I use my 3/8" impact swival alot and has been worth every penny($30 MAC version) in the last 8 years.

You forgot to add time to fish the nut out of the frame rail after your drop it and it falls in the perfectly placed hole that you can see, but can't get your hands to. You only have to do it on the driver's side, takes about 30 minutes. It's in the fine print on the instructions, you must have over looked it 8)

Holy cow! I did the exact same thing! Only I never got mine out. It's still in there now. Fortunately the nut was the same size as the strut plate nuts. Now one of my strut plate nuts is the garden variety from the local home depot with a healthy portion of blue loctite for added protection.
