The way I understand it is:
OME makes the springs, there are numerous numbers of offerings in effect; light, medium, heavy, extra heavy front and rear. I called ARB Tech Service to get them right.
As far a shocks there are OME and Rancho. My understanding is the OME are better in the front, Either in the rear. I went Rancho rear, OME front.
What else is there?
Bumpstop extensions in the rear, nothing extra required for the front, can you say hockey puck or $20-40?
I spent $700 so far, still need the hocky pucks.

Depends on how high you wanna go... A frankenlift is the OME with spacers. I netted 4 1/2" with the frankenlift after it settled.

4 1/2", that's including the 265/75/16's I would imagine, not just the Frankinlift..... 3" of lift plus 1.5" for the 32's = 4.5".

No that was with the stock tires. I originally had just over 5" when first bolted the lift on.

I've always heard about 3.25" on a Frankie, did you add anything else to the mix?
That has to do wonders for the stock CV axles.

i'm just going to go with the OME H/D springs all the way around with Rancho RSX shocks/struts all the way around and 3 clevis rings up front to level it out. also guna have some bumpstops in the back. total price is somewhere around 600 for me. but i have to buy JBA's a-arms which cost 400 and then install it.

I have the OME HDs all around with rancho struts and OME shocks and that what i would reccommend if you get the Frankie you really need to get JBA a-arms too and thats another $400

and with the OME coils you can always add a small spacer to make your own frankenlift

I have OME springs struts and shocks. When I talked to Marty he said that if it is your dd, then go with OME all around. They are made to compliment each other. He said that the Ranchos are great, but that they generally tuned for heavier rigs (my dad runs Rancho on his f350 for example) so they run a bit rougher than the OME on lighter vehicles. He said that getting OME springs without using the OME shocks is wasting the quality of the springs. I can't say one way or the other but I know my OME setup rides awesome. He didn't have anything really bad to say about the Rancho, and the fact they run stiffer isn't necessarily a bad thing too, just the OME are made to work as a complete unit and they do that extremely well. Just my 2 cents.

I have heard both ways on the front struts, I just know that after 60000 plus miles mine still rides just fine.
Plus if you think all shocks are the same you are wrong, each is valved for the particular application, which if you fiqure in the weight of the tools skids etc I am hauling around I would have almost as most that you would in the rear of a Dakota pickup so they work great. The front well mine are still good as well, I like the ride a lot and would I change them out for OMEs if I have an extra 200 laying around , no ...why should I ?
As far as them working together with the springs that may be true to a point, I can see the reasoning but its also a selling point as well

I run Rancho front struts and Rancho 17004 rear shocks, rides great, then a agian I also do not have OME coils either.I ran the rear OME shocks and didn't like the ride,to mushy for my wieght and the Rancho 17004's(for a stock Durango) are just perfect for my extra weight(more spring control).

Exactly, tjkj and Tom both have a lot of weight into their kjs and they use Rancho. I have a gas kj with very little extra weight (only a roof rack with some gear) and so the OME are a better choice for me. I am not going to be naive and say it isn't a selling point because it obviously is. The OME are more $$$, but for me it was worth it to get the "mushy" ride Troy is talking about. :)

yep some like that "mushy" Cadillac ride,
I guess I grew up with bias ply tires, leaf springs , bad shocks and a really rough ride so I think these are great

My first car was not a car I guess but a 78 CJ5 and it didn't ride like a caddy that is for sure and I loved it, but my tastes have changed so my rear end and my kidneys appreciate the OME after a long days trail ride through the rocks of Nevada. Tested the new lift out yesterday and it is awesome.

I Finally saved up enough money to Frankenlift my jeep. I can't wait! Still undecided on the Rancho/OME strut/shock thing yet. I may go with the Rancho's because they are cheaper and I find the Libby to be a rather smooth ride anyways. Much better than my Festiva or previous Samurai.

I'm still not that clear on the clevis rings though. Are they all the same size, or is there a specific size to look for? Seems as though I will need 3 to level everything out though.

If you are getting the Frankenlift you really dont need the clevis, if doing just OME coils and struts then you can do a clevis to level it out. Use a 2 inch conduit nut, (from the electrical section of your local Lowes/ hardware store) you dont need them but using them makes sure that both sides are the same

Yeah, my Frankenlift is higher in the front by 1 3/4". My rear measures 35 1/2" to the fender and the front measures 37 1/4". I ordered some extra rear isolators to help level it out and bring the rear up a smidge. So if you are going the frankenlift route, don't bother with the clevis lift, you shouldn't need it. I think either way, Rancho or OME, the ride quality is going to be way better than stock anyway. So if you save some money and go with the Rancho, you will for sure love it. Or if you splurge a little and go with the OME setup, you will love it too. And either way you won't really know what the other rides like, so no loss.

Just make sure to post some pics. 8)

Mine is like that as well. Does yours make a noise when unloaded like when driving over a speed bump (see my post http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=32512)?

Not that I have noticed, but I'll keep an ear out or it and let you know if it does.
