| Post subject: | 2wd lift question? |
I have a 2004 2wd liberty Columbia edition. Some of you maybe saying "why is he lifting a 2wd." I would just like for the jeep to look a little more manly, but with out spending to much money. I have installed 3 conduit nuts in the front and i am thinking of putting on a rear isolators. When i lifted the front it seemed that it leveled it out some. When i put the nuts on, it looked as if the bottom of the strut was still sitting even with the bottom of the clevis. If i put on the rear isolators and 1 more conduit nut with a total of 4 nuts, will i have a problem with my suspension or ride? Is 4 to many or should it be ok b/c of it being 2wd. With this set up, 4 nuts and 1 rear isolator will it still be setting level? Also if I do it what size tires will i be able to run with out any rubbing or trimming. I have 235/70/16. Also remember that i have stock suspension. thanks |

with four you will be fine on a 2 wheel drive, I would do it (install the 4th one) and then see where it sits you can always add a isolater and then get the alignment . reason why on four wheel drive we stay around there is the angles of the CVs, which you don't have to worry about Off topic but what kind of highway mileage are you getting? I keep thinking about buying a 2 wheel drive do lift same as mine now but no skids, etc etc etc, of course would have to be black |

22 in city and 25 on highway. I try to keep it under 2000 rpm's (NOT punching it everywhere) while in the city, and try keep it under 2500 rpm's on the interstate. That is running about 72-75mph. To get this better gas mileage I bought a universal k&n filter, and some rubber plumbing tub that has about a 45 degree bend, not really sure. hocked it all up and was really surprised by the hp and gas mileage gains. |

That's good to know...I have an '05 2wd but I'm on 225's....about to get 235's. I have the univeral k&n filter also, but the rest I'll have to try. I get approx. 23-24 HWY and about 19-20 in the city....but this is Charlotte and the traffic sucks.... Oh and it probably doesn't help that I drive it like I stole it...haha. |

Spent summer just outside of it playing ball in Rock Hill, SC. Charolett is awesome! I love it. Mobile, where i am from is not not small neither. |

Oh yeah, you're right, Mobile is pretty big. I was stationed down in Biloxi MS a few years back and have been to Mobile a few times. Really nice area...but always have to refill my washer fluid after driving on the interstate. lol Did you play ball at the Knight's stadium? I don't get out there as often as I'd like...it's a pretty good way to spend an evening of entertianment for not a lot of money. |

Yea i did play in the knights stadium. It is sick! I played in front of about 12000 fans in a college all star game and watched some knights games there. Was there on 4th of July in 2006. It was crazy, but in a good way! |

Its ok. I was just wondering if anybody knew of the best place to by rear isolators online. I have called the dealerships and they want to charge me 20 bucks a piece. I have seen on some subjects were people buy them for 10 bucks. can anyone help me out as to where to buy them. |

Online I would suggest jparts.com. I am not sure of the part number...anyone? With the shipping you might as well just hit up your local dealer. |

Just wondering Past 4 your strut is not in the clevis enough to safetly drive. There is a safier and better way to gain lift if your only a 2wd KJ.Get the clevis's from a KK,they are 1" longer then the KJ's clevis, that's a 2" lift right there.
