I have a 2wd liberty. I have 4 conduit nuts on clevis and 1 rear isolator on each side. What size tires can I run with out trimming or rubbing? Would like to get 245-75-16. is this to big? |

Without some type of 2 1/2 lift - I think 245/70/16 is the highest safe bet - you might be able to go higher - but it'd be a test fit and see what rubs, depends on whether you can find a tire dealer - who'll let you try different sizes. but on the other hand - the reason 4wd Liberties are limited to 2 1/2" is because of the CV joints - that you don't have - so you might be able to stack 2 different lifts - a spacer and spring- or OTT (make sure you have bumpstops)- check out swmpthg http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=24761&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 |

What problems did swmpthg have? I missed that. the point for Clint was that the 2wd shouldn't have the CV problems - and if that was swmpthg's concern then the 2wd could still run the taller lift - a 'prerunner' style. |

an OTT lift is the type sold by Rocky Road as the Budget lift (I think Rusty's sells a version also)- it's basically a big spacer the goes on the Top - between the strut and the strut mount. The bad name comes from the fact that if all you do is bolt in the lift - the first time you cycle the suspension full cycle - it will bottom out the strutt and kill the internals - however there's an easy fix - install a longer bumpstop. that prevents the the damage. And we have had 2-3 folks use them successfully. And the OTT would be an easy way to 'stack' 2 lifts. Although you would be experimenting and finding problems that no one else has dealt with so it might be something to try later - after you've done your 1st lift http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=5379&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 |
