I did a little reconsidering and thought that for now, since my jeep is a 99% DD, that I would just go with some exterior accessories to beef it up a bit. No real need to drop thousands on an OME kit and ARB because I really don't see myself doing any offroading with this vehicle. I found a set of the gloss black plastic Mopar Taillight Guards on eBay for 77 bucks, which is the cheapest I've seen, so I went ahead and ordered those. They came in yesterday, took all of 5 minutes to install, and look pretty good. I was a little disappointed to see that they didn't entirely cover the tail light edges, although they don't look bad by any means. The other purchase I just made today (call it an impulse buy, but I've been guilty of a few of those) was an Aries Offroad Grille Guard. It was by far one of the cheapest I had seen from a reputable manufacturer (they have had a number of items at the SEMA show according to their website). It cost $427 including shipping from SUVxccessory.com. Hopefully it will be here somewhere in the next few weeks (I don't have any experience ordering items that require truck freight, although they said this would ship UPS ground). I will post some pictures as soon as I get it in. Other than that, it's just an all stock, black 2007 Liberty Limited 4x4. I may go with one of those Daystar budget lift kits in the future just to add a bit of height. From what I have read here, the guys who are only using their Libs as DDs seem to think they fit the job just fine. Anyone else disagree?

From what I understand, lifts like that put alot ome stress on the sotck components causing them to wear out much more quickly. Save up and get the Frankenlift. Return the grill guard and you're halfway there.

That sounds like a great set of parts man. Don't waste your coin on super expensive lifts that are build for heavy off roading, when you never see more than a gravel trail. You can get OME lift for less than the frankenlift, and does just as good a job. Thats not a bad looking brush guard either. I'm not a huge fan of the plastic parts but who cares, its YOUR JEEP! Lower it if you want ;)

Post the weight of the front bar you have and ask what you need to support it. Better safe than sorry.

you can get the OME lift for about $650 shipped, but if you are still wanting cheaper then yes Daystar is a very good spacer lift, and it can be found for $155 but then you will still need longer shocks but they arent too expensive

What would the cheapest way to get a lift be?

I think technically the cheapest lift is a Clovis Lift, correct me if I am wrong I think I read that somewhere. The reason it is cheap is because it is just an adjustment to your suspension. Then come spacers and so on. I know where you are coming from Obi. I just got off the phone with All J ordering my OME. I am going to call back later because the woman I talked to did not seem...like she knew what she was talking about and I want to make sure everything is set with Heather.

No,you can say good bye to your front tow hooks, the brush guards/bull bars use the same mounting location that the OEM tow hooks do and all the brush guards/bull bars are to weak to attach a strap to and be recovered from with.

YES I DO!
It can be done with a little thinking.
This is what I did to make my bull bar and mopar tow hooks work
I have enough room to take a hook end to match up with my tow hooks. It takes a few mins to get a hook strap on to the hooks, but when I go wheeling, That morning I pre run my hook line in the front though the both tow hooks and wrap it around the bull bar incase I need it.

So are you just using bolts long enough to support both the tow hooks and the bull guard?

I used the same bolt that came with my tow hook. What I did was set the tow hook flush first and then used that peice of support steel and cranked down on the bolt and it is SOLID.

I have been yanked out, I have yanked others many times and never had any problems with the bolt coming loose or undone.

Well... the brush guard came in, but the project is on a temporary hold. I was thinking about getting it painted a glossier black, but for the $100 it was going to cost I figured I'd just skip that. Any way, I went to install it today and of course the nut plates that mount inside and on top of the bumper that you connect the mounts to are about 1/4" off from the holes on the bumper. Only way to go about this I see is to file/dremel the holes a bit so that I can line up the nut plates, bolts, and mounts for the guard. Unfortunately I don't have all of my tools down in Georgia with me, so I'm going to have to go up to Wal Mart or some place to buy a dremel tool, cutting bit, and extension cord. I've tried hand filing, but that took an hour and I"m only about halfway there on one of the holes. Also continues to prove my belief that mega companies that produce "bolt on-no modification required" products for all makes and models are rarely correct.

hey before you go though all that, take a picture of what you have and the location of the holes and show em. I might be able to help
I did mine with out drilling or fileing.
