Post subject:  rock rail question

so the other night my passenger side got hung on a log while trying to pull another jeep out and it pulled the pos plastic side skirt off. i am about to order rock rails for it. my question is, if i order the rails for an 03 or 04, will they bolt in and keep me from having to buy a new $300 piece of plastic?

thanks
mike

Are you talking about the unpainted piece of plastic that runs parallel to the ground that covers a pinch weld? If so, then yes, that will have to be removed to install the rock rails.

RockLlizard instructions for the 05 is to leave them on, as I did with my 06. I am sure that you can take them off, but I don't know what it will look like.

Any one have a pic of the 05 with the plastic off (with or without boulder bars)?
