A friend of mine has the Skyjacker 2" coil lift and his front struts just gave out....looking to buy new ones. He wants to know what everyone is using so I can order them for him. He is also goint to replace the rears while he is at it so any input would be appreciated! |

Well since the SkyJacker coils are different from the others used in other lifts(stock,OME,and Rusty's) you will need to modify the springs(cut about 1/3 of the bottom coil off since the bottoms are flat and not offset) to make them work with other struts besides the SkyJacker coils, then you need to get another set(one per side, bottom of the coils)of OEM front spring isolators.I know because I had to do the same thing when I switched from the SkyJacker struts to the Rancho struts, then I used a pair of the Rusty's front 3/4" polyspacers, cut 1/2" off of them,to make up the difference from the lost hieght from cutting the coil(thus making it shorter). |

This seems to be an on going theme with the Skyjacker struts not holding up very long. I've seen posts where people have had to replace them several times in a very short period of time. He might want to think about replacing the front springs and struts with Old Man Emu 927's and Rancho 17505's and be done with it, or do as Troy suggested above. |
