The biggest complaint about the discos is that they rattle a LOT. What if you put a dab of silicone sealant on the loose part so it can't rattle. Just one bead of the stuff. Has anyone tried something like that? Terry |

It may stop it for a short while but as soon as you remove it the first time and reistall, back to the rattle. Plus I don't think the silicone would hold up against the pressure |

Terry But with them there were ways of improving, with this problem there is no way to make something that will be easily removed, but still work and not rattle, its just part of owning a 4X4, have to have some rattles |

I got the upgrade kit for my disconnects from Jeepin' by Al said to eliminate 90 % of the noise. Too complicated (hard) to put on and off defeats the purpose of Quick Disconnects. I love mine gives me more droop and I can live with the noise, my Jeep isn't a Beamer. |

When I made my home made versions the noise what horrendous. It sounded like my front end was falling apart on every bump I hit. The nice professionally made ones should be better than my home made ones but I do know first hand that my buddies old RE discos were really really loud too. I am looking into making some with another design but we'll see if I ever get around to it. |
