So, this almost never happens, it only seems to happen when the jeep is not level, ie parked half on a curb, or on some rocks. Its probably 1 in every 20 times, but it is still annoying. The noise comes from the rear of the vehicle. It also seems more common when I do not have the brake all the way to the floor, but that is not always a solution.

U-Joints or possibly just some typical slack in the driveline.

So is this something serious? Should I rush this to the dealership tonight, or can it wait a while? It really isn't that common so, I do feel safe driving it... for now.

I wouldn't be concerned, if its driveline slack, thats normal, mine does it as well.

If its U-joints then things will get worse and more obvious before anything happens. Even If they do need to be replaced it coast me about 20-30 bucks to get new U-joints. Not a big deal, I would drive normally and just keep an ear open.

Normal. You are basically putting the drivetrain under strain when you park it real tight agaist a curb or rocks and when you leave you get a BANG from the components "unloading",mostly the parking paw in the tranny.Just be more careful on how you park, your KJ will last longer.

My parking procedure.

Bring vehicle to stop. Hold down foot brake.
Shift into Neutral.
Pull E-brake.
Remove foot from brake.
Wait for vehicle to settle.
Put vehicle into Park.

This puts less strain on the transmission. Especially if your parking on a slope.

Once again another good point TJKJ.

What i usually do when parking on an incline, curb, or rocks is keep it in gear, apply the brake firmly, shift to neutral, apply the parking brake, release the foot brake, then shift to park.

I need to get my parking brake tightened since I have to really pull it all the way before it makes a difference, and even then it is not locked. That's a good idea though!

Are your rear drums doing any of the braking? I ask, because the parking brake is nicely integrated into the 2002 models. You pull the brake, the drum shoes (brake pads) are mechanically forced against the drums to apply the brake.

You mention a long pull on the park brake lever.

Check the shoes in your drums to see they are properly adjusted or you might have to tighten up the parking brake cable. [there's a thread on the board for the cable proceedure]

If its that frigging easy than I might go and buy a pair of axle stands tomorrow and give that a shot myself, then I can feel all proud cause I fixed something :)

So even after you put the ebrake on, and you release your foot, it will still move? Why is that? I know the car I used to own was solid once I pulled the brake tight.

The article mentioned to make sure there isn't any "drag"... can someone explain what that means, and how I would know if there is any? I did what it said but don't think it made any real difference...

It shouldn't move after you pull the e-brake.
