A buddy of mine has extra tow hooks for a ford and also for a yukon that he's willing to give to me for free and I want to see if they'll work at all.

I've seen the ones on his ford and they look like these

I think the ones for the Yukon that he's talking about look like these, but I won't know until tomorrow

(He said they're the hook kind, not a full shackle, but they don't curve upward they curve towards the inside.)

Will either of these work for my KJ? *crosses fingers*

no and no. uncross your fingers. The OEM hooks mount to 3 specific holes in your frame using special bolts that come with the hooks.

Not a chance, unless you take the hooks off of a set of KJ-specific hook mounts and put something else on them. I thought about taking the hooks off of a set and welding some steel between the two mounting plates for a receiver hitch on the front but, after looking closely at the brackets, I doubt they'd be strong enough for a winch (the only reason I wanted a receiver in the front). Especially after bending the frame a little where the passenger hook is mounted, I really have my doubts about their strength.
