I turned the lever to spray & wipe my rear windshield and this HORRID squeal (the "scream") was emitted. What gives? What could this be due to? |

could it be that it was very dry? the sound of rubber against glass isn't a very pleasant one if it isn't wet enough. |

I sprayed a TON of fluid on the windshield before using the "wipe" setting - so I don't think that was it, plus the "scream" happened as the fluid was coming out |

try putting a thick coat of peanut butter on your rear wiper blade. |

LMAO - unique suggestions, but it's still making that noise (and no, didn't try the peanut butter, even though you can use it for anything The sound is obnoxious! |

Is the noise coming from the wiper moving across the glass or the fluid coming out? Could be a motor going out on the wiper. |

I never have noise with front or rear on mine. Sounds like your KJ might have a washer fluid phobia and gets scared every time you make the fluid come out. Either way, not normal. |

The sound occurs when the fluid is being sprayed out (starts just before fluid starts flowing, and continues until fluid stops flowing) - only cleaning it because of the tree sap on it |

I cant imagine what would make that kinda noise in the back since the pump for the fluid is in the front fender(in the washer fluid). |

Just get back there and let that cat go. He's suffered enough already. |

How about releasing that young girl you're keeping tied up back there first and see if the noise still occurs. |

This may sound crazy, then again reading some of the other posts maybe not. You mentioned tree sap on the window. Is it possible that some of the tree sap may have gotten into / onto the end of the nozzle and is closing part of it off. The higher pressure from the pump trying to force the same amount of liquid through a smaller hole may be causing the noise. It could be either the sound of the pump being overworked, or the sound of the fluid being forced out. |
