I know I have read a number of posts where the idea was talked about, but has anybody actually done this?

What are the things to look out for?

Just the front or the front and the rear?

You will lose about 2 1/2" of lift with the OEM CRD spring if you are swapping them for the Rusty's 2 1/2" coil springs.

Just get some OME HD springs.

are you talking about taking the CRD front springs and switching them with the stock GASSER's and putting the whole set up lift and all back on? i dont know if anyone has done it or not, but may be little too much lift for the front and then you will have a drastic CV angle like mine, and you dont want that.

Okay, let me re-explain. I HAVE a gasser with a Rusty's 2.5" lift (plus 3/8" clevis). I may be able to get for FREE a set of OEM CRD springs.

The plan is to potentially take the Rusty's struts apart and replace the Rusty's springs with the OEM CRD spring using the Rusty's (i.e., OME) struts.

Is it worth it to swap these out?

What are the problems associated with doing this?

Thanks.

Not worth it,you will lose over 2" of lift since the stock CRD coils are not lift coils, unless you have the Rusty's spacer lift.
